Everyone should be able to read and browse this site: with a keyboard, with a screen reader, on a phone, with reduced motion. I aim for level AA of the international WCAG 2.2 guidelines. This page says what is in place, what has been checked and what has not been yet.

What is in place

  • All the content is written in the page: the site reads without JavaScript. The orrery is an extra way to browse; the same list of projects sits right below it.
  • Each planet is a real, named button that works with a keyboard. Focus always stays visible.
  • A “Skip to content” link opens every page.
  • Two themes, light and dark: the site follows your system setting on the first visit, then your choice.
  • Animations stop when your system asks for reduced motion, and a button pauses the orrery.
  • Videos only start after a click: the YouTube player is not loaded before that.
  • The layout fits a screen 320 pixels wide, without horizontal scrolling, and supports browser zoom at 200%.
  • The site prints cleanly and stays readable in Windows high contrast mode.
  • The CVs in PDF are tagged for screen readers: headings, lists and links in reading order, a description of the photo in the French CV; decoration is skipped.

What has been checked

Automated checks with Playwright in October 2026, on every page, in French and in English, in both themes:

  • Contrast: every text measured against its actual background, in Chrome, Edge and WebKit (Safari’s engine).
  • Keyboard: tab order, visible focus, no trap, in Chrome and Edge.
  • Layout: 24 screen sizes, from a 320-pixel phone to a large display; increased text spacing; reduced motion.
  • Structure exposed to screen readers: headings, names of links and buttons, announcement of the project chosen in the orrery.
  • Navigation: links between pages, anchors and the language switch.

Known limits

  • I have not yet tested the site with Firefox, on an Apple device (Safari, VoiceOver), or with an actual screen reader such as NVDA: the checks cover the structure exposed to these tools.
  • The orrery is an animated 3D scene: with a keyboard or a screen reader, the list of projects right below it is more direct.
  • A few detailed diagrams are small on a phone: a “View full size” link opens the complete picture.
